wanted to say hi, looking to get into a pocketbike

Alright well I'm looking to get into pocket bikes.
I'm a dad of 2 daughters (3 and 6moths) and I also ride a 92 gsxr1100.

Unlike what seems to be the norm for these bikes I'm actually wanting one that can be made street legal if I cant buy it that way from the beginning.

Need some help guys... I've got no idea whats best for price, components, modding, speed ability etc.

water cooled or oil cooled?
110cc - 125cc - 150cc - 200cc - 250cc?
Where's all the shops in the lower mainland?

anyone know if this would be allowed on the track?

Hi Smokeshow and welcome...

That beast reminds me of Chrysler's "Tomahawk" concept bike. I think it had a V10 Viper engine... crazy!

Will it be allowed on the track? Well, it doesn't fit the definition of a pocket bike (see Rules section of the forum) so it can't compete in BCPBRA events. However, as long as it will stay in one piece and can turn in a small enough circle, you could bring it out to F440 on one of our Track Days.

As for making it (or any other "pocket bike") street legal in BC... All I can say is Good Luck with that!

Here are some things to consider:

Importation of these machines into Canada is only possible because they are declared as "Competition Only" vehicles, "...for off road use only." (See Transport Canada & Canadian Border Services Agency)

Complying with BC's Motor Vehicle Regulations would be difficult at best. Even if you had some success there, ICBC would not sell you insurance for any number of reasons.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but you are not the first to try this. Having said that, there have been one or two of those mini choppers that have been "deemed acceptable".

"Deemed acceptable" included a favourable inspection report that was paid for... read bribe.
